About
A legacy to protect. A love worth fighting for. A cowboy who won’t let go.
Wealth, legacy, and love—Desiree Burnett has spent her life safeguarding the family empire, never letting emotions cloud her judgment. But when a devastating accident shakes the foundation of her world, she’s forced to confront the one thing she swore she’d never risk—her heart.
Sterling Rylan walked away from the brutal world of professional bull riding haunted by tragedy and determined to leave his past behind. But when his estranged father drags him back for one final ride, he finds himself on a collision course with the one woman who sees through his defenses.
Their passion ignited in Maui, but in Texas, their worlds were too different, their futures too uncertain. Now, with fate forcing them back together, Desiree and Sterling must decide—can love truly conquer the ghosts of the past?
From the glittering boardrooms of Texas to the adrenaline-fueled arenas of the PBR, Desiree’s story is one of undeniable attraction, heartbreaking sacrifice, and the ultimate fight for love.
Will she risk it all for the only man who has ever made her feel alive? Or will fear and pride cost them their one shot at forever?

Praise for this book
Sad to say this is the last book in this fabulous series from Sylvia, and wow! It doesn't disappoint. You may need tissues for this one...just saying.
Simply brilliant, in all ways, the main character, Desiree, the last of the Burnet grandchildren to wed, didn't attend her cousin's wedding, so she didn't fall into the trap that her match-making 5x great-grandmother's ghost, Eugenia, had in mind. So, Desiree goes to Maui, only to fall in love with Sterling, a bull rider who is on vacation. ( He has a secret he has yet to tell).
No spoilers from me as my words will not do the justice I believe this book deserves. What I will say is that Desiree has been written extremely well by Sylvia; her descriptive writing brings the characters to life, and they feel real and true to life.
